The Anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists of NCAP are part of the surgical team that will care for you during your surgery.
Anesthesiologists are physicians who complete 4 years of college, 4 years of Medical School, 1 year of Internal Medicine, Surgical or Transitional Internship and then a minimum of three years of Anesthesiology Residency. Many then choose to complete a Fellowship that further specializes their skills in Pediatric Anesthesia, Cardiac Anesthesia, Critical Care or Pain Medicine, to name a few. All NCAP physicians are board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology within the first two years of completing their Residency.
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists have a Masters degree in Nursing for Colorado licensure, and have a least one year of experience in an acute care nursing setting before completing a 2-3 year nurse anesthesia program.
